Inside the shop

Two floors, and it turns over fast.

Almost everything is one of a kind, so the floor looks different week to week. Call before you drive in for something specific.

Walnut and oak casework, caned chairs, brass and milk glass fixtures. Rewired before anything with a cord goes on the floor.

Paper, signs & local history

Advertising signs, maps, postcards, and photographs. The Liberty and Clay County drawer is the one people lose an hour in.

The soda counter

Glass bottles, and the good candy.

Forty-odd sodas in the cooler at the back, all in glass, most of them cane sugar. There is a bottle opener screwed to the counter and two stools if you want to drink it here.

Local makers

Eleven people from around here.

The wall by the register is not antique. It is pottery, soap, cutting boards, and jam from makers in Liberty, Kearney, and Excelsior Springs. Every piece has a card with the maker's name on it.

If you make something and want a shelf, come in on a Tuesday morning and bring three examples.
